Edward, after mistakenly being informed that Bella has committed suicide, travels to Volterra, Italyto request the Volturi to destroy him. Alice returns to Forks and discovers Bella is still alive, and the funeral she envisioned was really Harry Clearwater's funeral after his death from a heart attack. Alice and Bella pursue Edward to Italy and successfully prevent him from showing himself in daylight to humans, an act that would result in his execution. The trio are taken to the Volturi.
Because Bella knows about vampires, the Volturi would either killer her or have her become a vampire herself. Alice shows Aro a vision of Bella and Edward as vampires, and they're free to leave. Upon returning home, Edward tells Bella that he never stopped loving her, and he only left Forks, because he thought it would protect her. Edward promises to never leave Bella's side ever again. Bella, intent on becoming a vampire, decides that Edward's family should vote on her fate.
Only Rosalie and Edward say no, but Edward agrees to change her himself if she will marry him. Edward explains that he is reluctant to change Bella into a vampire, because he believes that vampires are soulless creatures, who have no place in heaven. Edward initially refuses, saying that he could easily lose control in the heat of the moment and unintentionally kill her.

The plot is driven by the machinations of the vampire Victoriawho first encountered Bella and the Cullens during the first novel, Twilight. Victoria, seeking to avenge her lover, James' death, hunts Bella while building a new vampire army. To combat this threat, a reluctant truce is struck between the Cullen family, and the shape shifting wolf pack led by Sam Uley and Jacob Black, who pits himself against Edward as a love interest for Bella.
Bella considers Jacob only as a friend, but despite her engagement to Edward, she shares a kiss with him, and realizes that she loves him, too, but loves Edward more.
Bella acknowledges that Edward is the most important person in her life, and knows she has to tell her father. They spend their honeymoon on Isle Esme, a small island off the coast of Rio de JaneiroBrazil that was given to Esme as a gift from Carlisle.
They make love, but their lovemaking sparks a conflict between the newlywed couple: Edward is horrified that he has bruised Bella, but she insists that she is fine and wants Edward to make love to her again. Although he vows not to do so again while she is still human, he eventually gives in. Two weeks later, Bella becomes very sick, and realizes that she is pregnant.
Edward is shocked and rushes Bella home to see Carlisle, who is a doctor. He confirms that she's pregnant, and Bella's health deteriorates from the baby's accelerated growth. Edward tries to talk her into having an abortion to save her own life.
Bella refuses, and asks Rosalie to act as her bodyguard, as she feels a bond with her unborn child, and insists on giving birth.
Soon, Edward comes to love the baby as well, after he hears its thoughts, and learns that the baby loves Bella in return, and doesn't mean to hurt her.
Bella undergoes a cesarean section, and nearly dies, but Edward successfully delivers their daughter, Renesmee. He then uses a special needle to inject his venom into Bella's heart, and bites her neck, arms, and legs. During Bella's transformation, Jacob imprints —an involuntary process in which a shape-shifter finds his soulmate — on their baby, Renesmee Cullen. After a vampire named Irina mistakes Renesmee for an immortal vampire child a creation that is forbidden in the vampire worldAlice foresees the Volturi will arrive to destroy the Cullen family as punishment for the alleged transgression.
The Cullen family find witnesses to observe the mortality of Renesmee. Bella learns she's a shield and learns to shield people from other's mental thoughts and senses. Edward stands with Bella and their allies to convince the Volturi that Renesmee is not an immortal child, and poses no threat to their existence. Once the Volturi leave, Edward and Bella are finally free to live their lives in peace with their daughter forever.
She has thick, long, brown hair, with a wide forehead, and a widows peak. Her eyes are described as being "chocolate brown" and widely spaced. She often describes him as god-like in appearance, like the Greek hero Adonis, and hopes that by becoming a vampire she will become beautiful and graceful like him and his family, the Cullens. Edward disapproves of this and always reassures her that she is more than worthy, and has his heart.
Bella sometimes thinks of Edward as an angel. Edward proposes to Bella in New Moon and she eventually accepts in Eclipse, looking down on the prospect of marriage but not entirely opposed to it. As part of a deal with Edwardshe promises to marry him if he promises to make love with her and then change her into a vampire.
She sees this as the only part of the marriage to look forward to. Bella and Edward in Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in the series, Bella overcomes her fear of marriage and happily marries Edwardbecoming Bella Cullen. During their honeymoon on a private island, Isle Esme, Edward and Bella consummate their marriage and conceive a child—a vampire hybrid child.
During the birth, complications occur and Edwardafter delivering their baby via caesarian section, is forced to inject Bella with his venom, thereby changing her into a vampire, to save her life. After Bella transformation, she and Edward become equals and can experience a vastly easier life, though they find it very hard to satisfy their sexual desire for each other.
At series end, Bella and Edward live happily together, presumably forever, as husband and wife with their daughter, Renesmee.
At the end of the book, Bella learns to remove her shield and let Edward read her thoughts for the first time, which brings them closer together. Jacob Black Edit Bella and Jacob's time together. He falls in love with Bella after some time and spends a lot of time with her during the period of Edward's absence. While Edward was away, Bella found that Jacob's presence soothed the "hole" in her chest that resulted from Edward leaving her.
Being around Jacob brought a measure of happiness back to Bella's life, though he was unable to replace Edward. Bella felt that Jacob was a good friend, and that he was her own "personal little sun" which would beam happiness in every direction wherever he went. When Jacob underwent his transformation into a werewolf, it put a distance in their friendship.
In Eclipse, Jacob acts upon his romantic feelings for Bellaand tries to convince her to leave Edward for him. Jacob thinks that, since he is more human than Edwardhe will be safer for Bella to have a relationship with. Edward sees this, but is still willing to fight for her. Jacob forcefully kisses Bellaresulting in her punching him, breaking her hand and almost ending their friendship. Sometime later, Jacob overhears that Bella and Edward are engaged and makes Bella kiss him, saying that if she doesn't he will get himself killed.
She does so, and realizes that she is in love with Jacob. But Bella soon realizes that her love for Jacob is not as strong as her love for Edward. She later tells Jacob that she has chosen Edward over him, breaking his heart. A devastated Jacob remains at odds with Edward and Bella after this. Eventually, Jacob imprints on Edward and Bella's daughter, Renesmee, ridding him of his heartache for Bella. Bella and Edward were furious and, after hearing that he nicknamed her Nessie, after the Loch Ness Monster, Bella lost control of her anger and tried to kill Jacob.
But she soon regained self-control, and BellaEdwardand Jacob made peace. She comes to accept Jacob's imprinting on Renesmee, and they remain close friends. The mothers of this particular kind of children has never survived the pregnancy.
Knowing this, Edward tries to convince Bella to save her life by having an abortion, but Bella refuses, as she has come to love the child. Edward's hatred ceases when he hears her thoughts to find that the child already loves her parents, and is trying harder not to hurt her mother.
After a painful childbirth and transformation, Bella learns that Jacob has imprinted on Renesmee, angering her. She later accepts it when she learns Jacob's imprinting is involuntary, and that Renesmee loves Jacob as well. Before the arrival and judgement of the Volturi, Bella gives Renesmee a golden locket inscribed with the words "plus que ma propre vie" which means "more than my own life" in French.
Bella puts her love for her daughter on an equal level as her love to Edward. Edit   Bella's mother: Her mother has always put her relationships although has been very clear that she wants Bella to remain independent. She then decides to move back to Forks so that her mother could stayed married to her father and become the small family again, none of the arguments, Renee simply agrees.
She visits her mother and father in Eclipse after Edward talks her into using the plane tickets she'd got from his parents, and finds herself in torment as her days as a human are shortening by the day.
She supports her daughter's choice to marry young wholeheartedly when she first tells her about the engagement, despite she has great likes to young marriage when Renee was married to Charlie, and attends her daughter's wedding.
