Woz's criticism of the Apple Watch completely misses the point. or marketing-- three areas where Steve Jobs's genius really shone through. No one made that connection before him, and no one since has done it better.
According to Wozniak, the Apple III "had percent hardware failures", and that the primary reason for these failures was that the system was designed by Apple's marketing department, unlike Apple's previous engineering-driven projects.
In a interview, Wozniak said that "Steve [Jobs] really took over the project when I had a plane crash and wasn't there. Wozniak sustained severe face and head injuries, including losing a tooth, and also suffered for five weeks after the crash from anterograde amnesiathe inability to create new memories.
He had no memory of the crash, and did not remember his name in the hospital or the things he did after he was released. After losing several million dollars on the festival, he stated that unless the event turned a profit, he would end his involvement with rock festivals and get back to designing computers.
However, even with the success he helped create at Apple, Wozniak felt that the company was hindering him from being who he wanted to be, and that it was "the bane of his existence". He then sold most of his stock. Because his name was well known at this point, he enrolled under the name Rocky Raccoon Clark, which is the name listed on his diploma. When Hack meets Wozniak in his Sydney hotel room, five years on from the death of the other Steve, he's in town on a five-stop high concept speaking tour. He wears a black skivvy. The promotional website leads with the quote: It's a confrontation that never happened in real life, the year-old says. He was a good friend. He had very, very, very negative sides and he didn't seem to care what other people felt.
And although he says there was never any tension between him and Jobs, "not right to the end of life", long ago they had stopped being close. He wanted so strongly to find the way to be an important person in the world. That was good with me.
I was the shy engineer who wanted to go into the laboratory and keep inventing things and building them. Supplied Wozniak strives to appear sanguine and composed about the past, and about what happened between him and Jobs, but it's not hard to pick up on some niggling discomfort. On occasion, as with his insistence on building a perfectly cube-shaped computer at NeXT, that worked against him.
Much more often, it worked for him, as when he designed the case of the Apple II to be a complete, integrated computer, with monitor and keyboard at the ready--unheard of at the time.
People care about beauty. Woz got his facts slightly wrong--it's not only the watchbands that differ from a less expensive to more expensive Apple Watch, it's also the case itself. In the more expensive editions, it's made of karat gold.

I'm guessing that, like most geeks, Woz doesn't spend a lot of time in jewelry stores. Gold is beautiful in a way other metals are not.
In this respect, the Apple Watch is completely consistent with the company Steve Jobs created Woz left the company after its first five years. Beauty was always top-of-mind for him. A functional piece of technical equipment could also be a pleasure to use and lovely to look at. No one made that connection before him, and no one since has done it better.
